Thames Rib Experience

What better way to see London’s sights than on the world famous River Thames by way of the Thames Rib Experience. A knowledgeable guide will provide you with a wealth of interesting facts about London and the sights it has to offer. The great thing about the trip is that it is restricted to 12 passengers which makes it more personal and allows you more interaction with the guide so that you get more from your excursion.

Passengers can choose from two trips – one that takes in historical London and on to the heart of the City’s financial district, Canary Wharf; and one that ventures further down the river to the Thames Flood Barrier, taking in historical maritime Greenwich and even more modern wonders such as the now named ‘o2’ Arena (which will be North Greenwich Arena 1 during the 2012 Olympics).

Some of the sights you will take in on your Thames Rib Experience – and in no particular order – are…

  • The Houses of Parliament & Big Ben
  • The London Eye
  • Oxo Tower
  • St. Paul’s Cathedral
  • HMS Belfast
  • Tate Modern
  • The Tower of London
  • Tower Bridge
  • The Millennium Bridge
  • Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre
  • Greenwich
  • Thames Flood Barrier

The Boat

The boat you will be on whilst enjoying your Thames Rib Experience is, as the name suggests, a RIB which is short for (Rigid Inflatable Boat).

These boats are more commonly used by Special Forces and Police Associations around the world. Designed to be used in extreme conditions, they are strong, stable and (in case you’re tentative about going on the water) very, very safe.

All of the boats are equipped with up-to-date electronic data and safety equipment and are operated by qualified and experienced skippers.

The Thames Rib Experience is based at Embankment Pier, Victoria Embankment, London, WC2N 6NU.
