Synopsis

Fantastic tale of the part played by horses in WW1. The plat starts on a farm when Albert the son of the farmer is given a horse of his own by his father who had over bid for him against his long hated brother at an auction. He names the horse Joey.

Over the next few months Albert becomes very close to the horse. Joey is conscripted in to the army as many horses were, to help the war effort and is sent overseas to Europe. There he begins an extraordinary odyssey which leads him to serve on both sides. Albert who is under aged joins up himself lying to the enrolment officer. He wants to find Joey and bring him back.
