The Inside Scoop on London

Like any city, London is as safe as you make it. Follow your instincts and go as you would if you were new to say New York City, LA or Chicago. For example, avoid deserted streets unless you know exactly where you’re going. If you’re in any doubt, take a taxi.

Generally though, London is pretty safe. As long as you’re sensible (and by that I mean not hooking your handbag onto the back of your chair – making it easy for someone to steal it – as you sit outside a pub or restaurant having a nice glass of wine).

And other obvious stuff applies, too – such as not counting how much cash you have in your wallet while standing in the middle of Oxford Street (the main shopping street in London’s West End), or asking someone who you wouldn’t trust to take a photo of you and your family with your brand new expensive camera when you wouldn’t normally trust them with your favorite book back home.

Like I said, all the usual stuff applies.
