So what’ll it actually be like in London in 2012?

As 2012 approaches, Britain will be hooked. We Brits love sport and love to host major sporting occasions. In 1996, England staged the European Football (Soccer) Championships, which were great fun.

And the 2012 summer Olympics will be an unforgettable experience. As Lord Coe, the Chairman of the London 2012 Organising Committee said: “There is a sense of excitement building and a genuine sense of belief that the Games will be a source of intense national pride and the benefits will be felt for generations to come.”

9.2 million tickets will be available for the 2012 summer Olympics and they go on sale in 2011.

Approximately eight million tickets will be available for the Olympic Games, with another two million for the Paralympic Games. Subject to availability, tickets will remain on sale until the start of every event.
